UCAS announces deadline extension to be 29th of January

10 January 2021

UCAS announces that its first deadline of 15th of January will be extended by two weeks.

Students applying to start university or college in 2021 now have until 18:00 on Friday 29 January to complete their application, following announcements in the UK to close schools and colleges.

We strongly advise students not to leave their application to the last minute and if they are ready to submit to go ahead and do this now.

For those students that need some additional support from their school, for instance those who do not have readily available access to digital devices, we hope this extension will give them the opportunity to make arrangements to finalise their application in time for equal consideration.

We also hope this decision relieves some pressure if you are still working through your students’ applications.

As we have done throughout the pandemic, we will keep students informed in relation to the announcements regarding examinations and how this relates to their application, ensuring they have the information they need to make their decisions.
