Essex University announces scholarship for Cypriot male students serving the army

Essex University announced that male students from Cyprus who are currently serving the army will be eligible to apply for Cyprus Military Service Scholarship which will allow them home fee rate.
More specifically, male students who are currently doing their mandatory service in Cyprus National Guard will be eligible for home fee rate of 9,250 pounds instead of international fees if they wish to begin their studies at Essex University on September 2021.
Students will have to provide the University with military certificate proving that they have completed their service during 2020, in order for them to be eligible.
Eligibility
- These scholarships are restricted to applicants who are classified as international students for fees purposes and are ordinarily resident in Cyprus.
- Applicants must have completed military service during the year of 2020-21 and received military certificate απολυτήριο στρατού.
- Applicants must be entirely self-funded. These awards are not available to students who are fully or partly sponsored.
- Applicants must be starting their first year of study on a degree course at the University of Essex in 2021-22.
- Undergraduate applicants must make Essex their firm choice on UCAS by 19 July 2021.
- Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex awards.
