UK universities produce best ever performance in 2019 QS World University Rankings

11 June 2018

The 2019 QS World University Rankings were published this month with 76 UK universities featuring in the 1,000-strong list, 41 of whom improved on their 2018 rating - a best ever performance.

The University of Oxford was one of the biggest winners as it moved ahead of Oxbridge rival University of Cambridge into the global top five, with Imperial College London and University College London also maintaining their top ten positions. The QS rankings are regarded as the most highly respected of the various international league tables.

Ben Sowter, QS’s research director, said:“Keeping pace is one thing but staying ahead of the curve is a testament to the innovation, insight, capacity for collaboration, and thought-leadership present at UK universities.”
